  3. Incredible GIF Animations of San Francisco

Note: They take time to load!

These incredible vertigo-ish animation are all part of director Kevin Parry’s latest music video for Kalle Matson featuring a number of visual effects creating the illusion as if the camera is being slingshot through some of the most popular locations in the city of San Francisco. Kevin Parry explains how he made the shots on Colossal:

The zooms are done by setting up a camera at each end location and filming the camera zooming in and out. The middle parts are done by putting a camera on the front of my scooter and driving the spanning distance. All that footage is then animated after the fact, only using a very small amount of the frames that were actually filmed. And everything is lined up, cropped, etc. to fit my needs. The spins are done by carefully mapping out a circle around whatever target, and picking roughly 36 locations to shoot a still from. Those photos are then processed, and lined up after the fact.

Kevin Parry has more of these animations in his own gallery. You can check out the music video down below!

  6. Pixel illustrations at its best (NSFW)

There seem to be veil of mystery hanging around this artist. A quick visit to his website doesn’t reveal much other than his peculiar, yet intriguing pixel works and gif’s and a way to get in touch with him. Nevertheless, Uno Moralez has created a wonderful series of nostalgic pixel illustrations giving you a peak of his surreal and twisted mind full with odd-looking creatures and scenario’s. It even includes piece of a man dressed as a goat-like bearded fisherman befouling a deceased body (hence the NSFW warning, or check it out if nobody is looking). Regardless of his perverted sense of humor, he’s excellent at what he does and the works are simply brilliant!

  8. Illustrations that come alive, the GIF way.

We love GIFs. There’s no questions that there are people here that share our opinion about the magic of GIF images. We recently shared the beautiful stereographic GIFs by Dain Fagerholm and this time we discovered an artist that does something similar to make his illustrations come alive. Santtu Mustonen created several illustrations and gave it a touch of GIF to give it a 3D-ish, cinematic experience creating a whole new level of perception for his illustrations.

  10. Thank God It’s Monday’s GIF

Hilarity ensues upon scrolling down the TGIMGIF (Thank God It’s Monday’s Graphics Interchange Format) page by Cari Vander Yacht, a creative with the renown ad agency Wieden+Kennedy.
